Christmas Gift Bag Project

Helping offenders live free from crime

Sixty-One is the founder of a Bristol city-wide partnership that supports prisoners before and after release. We enable individuals, churches, charities and businesses to provide the relational and community based support offenders need to live free from crime.

Christmas Gift Project

With the support of local churches, Sixty-One co-ordinates a Christmas Gift Project which gives a bag of simple gifts to 1,600 prisoners in three local prisons, including HMP Bristol within which HSH provides healthcare services. Sixty-One also offers prisoners a copy of a Christian booklet. This act of unconditional kindness, at a time when self-harming and suicide are high, has a huge impact – for many prisoners this will be the first Christmas present they have ever received. This project also helps publicise the support that the charity can offer to serving prisoners.
